BRIDGEWATER CANAL, MOORING RESTRICTIONS CASTLEFIELD ARENA

Notice is hereby given that due to the screening of World Cup Football in the Arena area, mooring restrictions will be applied in the Staffordshire Arms and between the Staffordshire and Kenworthy Arms in Castlefield from 7th June 2010 to 12th July 2010.

For event safety reasons the mooring of pleasure craft will be prohibited from using the Staffordshire Arms during the period from 10am on Monday 7th June 2010 until Monday 12th July 2010. In addition to the prohibition of mooring in the Staffordshire Arms, restrictions will be applied along the canal bank between the Staffordshire and Kenworthy Arms (Barca) between the above dates as required for event safety.

Alternative moorings

Subject to availability, pleasure craft may moor along the coal wharf. Please note admittance to the big screen area is by ticket only.

The Company apologizes for any inconvenience caused to boat owners wishing to use Castlefield.

BRIDGEWATER CANAL, POMONA LOCK FEES 2010/11

Notice is hereby given that Pomona Lock fees are to be increased to £22.00 per craft per lock with immediate effect until further notice.

Craft returning through the Lock on the same day will only be charged a single fee.

Please note charges for the use of Pomona Lock are not applicable to Bridgewater Canal licence holders

BRIDGEWATER CANAL, BARTON AQUEDUCT OPERATING TIMES 2010

Barton Aqueduct is open to navigation on the Bridgewater Canal subject to shipping on the Manchester Ship Canal between the following times:

1st April 2010 to 30th September 2010 inclusive 9.15 am to 9.00 pm.

1st October 2010 to 31st December 2010 inclusive 9.15 am to 4.30 pm.
