Dear Boaters,
We want to bring to your attention that we have received reports of a recent increase in suspected criminal incidents and antisocial behaviour within the Castlefield area.
Whilst we do not wish to cause alarm, we would ask that you remain vigilant and report any concerns to the Company bridgewatercanal@peel.co.uk and also inform local police.
We are currently liaising with Manchester City Council who have advised that any issues are reported to the Police on 101. Manchester City Council have also advised they will be increasing patrols in the area.
This matter will also be raised with the Bridgewater Canal Watch Group.

Opened on 17th July 1761, the Bridgewater Canal has a special place in history as the first canal in Britain to be built without following an existing watercourse, and so became a model for those that followed it.
The Bridgewater Canal is surrounded by a beautiful environment rich with flora and fauna.
