Notice is hereby given that Barton Aqueduct (situated on the Leigh Branch
of the Bridgewater Canal) will be closed to navigation for annual maintenance.
CLOSED FROM WEDNESDAY 27th JUNE 2018
WILL REOPEN FRIDAY 29TH June at 7am
The Bridgewater Canal will reopen to navigation at 7am on Friday 29th June 2018. Works to repair the bridge will be ongoing.
Notice is hereby given that due to the “Sounds of the City" event in the Arena area, mooring restrictions will be applied in the Staffordshire and Kenworthy Arms in Castlefield from 17th June to 13th July 2018.
We are pleased to confirm that the Bridgewater Canal is now open to all navigation following the canal closure due to the replacement of Vicars Hall Bridge.

Notice is hereby given that due to emergency demolition works next to the Bridgewater Canal at Hulme Hall, Manchester the Canal and Towpath will be closed for navigation and to pedestrians during the course of the works.
Notice is hereby given that due to Ground Investigation Work between Barton Aqueduct & Patricroft Bridge, the Bridgewater Canal Towpath will be closed while works are undertaken.
Notice is hereby given that due to a Road Traffic Accident at Walton Bridge, Warrington Road the Bridgewater Canal towpath will be closed to pedestrian traffic until further notice.
The Bridgewater Canal is a 65km canal stretching from Runcorn to Leigh and is owned and operated by the Peel Group.
